A native of Val-d'Or, Abitibi, Barbara Secours was introduced to showbiz from an early age. At 14, she moved to Quebec and joined the troupe Crescendo, giving her exposure through television appearances and touring. At 17, the musician took classical singing lessons while in college. The following year, she began to sing jazz. In 2000, Secours was recruited for the musical revue Sing 2000. Soon after, she began working with Bob Walsh, Sylvie Desgroseillers and K-Maro, among others. In 2009, Secours came to the Festival to present her debut album, Love Is a Wonderful World.
