Formed in 2001, the Montreal quintet, Pawa Up First, draws its influences from almost all genres of music: post-rock, experimental, dub, electro, hip-hop and jazz, with a touch of post-punk. Their colour palette is equally varied, their style utterly unique and impossible to [A1] classify. Several have ascribed cinematic qualities to their music. And justly so: the group uses short film projections during its shows. In 2009, Pawa Up First released its third CD, titled The Outcome.
