A vibrant presence on the Montreal jazz scene, pianist and composer Marianne Trudel has been captivating audiences and musicians alike with her nuanced performances and community-minded initiatives. She earned a B.A. in Jazz Performance at McGill in 2001 and an M.A. in Ethnomusicology from the Université de Montréal in 2006. Merging her intellectual accomplishments with her personal interests, Trudel founded the concert-conference series Au coeur des musiques improvisées. She released her first self-produced album Espace Libres in 2005, followed by the live recording Sands of Time in 2007. Espoirs et autres pouvoirs came out four years later, followed by Le refuge in 2013.
