Multi-talented artist Eric Yick-Keung San, a.k.a. Kid Koala, is a veneered DJ as well as a graphic novelist and writer. Starting out as a pub DJ in Vancouver in the late 1990s, his humorous and innovative scratching and mixing style soon caught the attention of his heroes at Ninja Tune. First North American artist to be signed the pioneering UK label, Koala was soon propelled to star status, opening for Björk, Radiohead and the Beastie Boys. With a style still unsurpassed in the DJ world, Kid Koala's natural storytelling abilities come alive behind turntables, each sample telling a story, while always keeping his audience on its feet with his funky breaks. In 2006, he released his fourth album, Your Mom's Favourite DJ, and recently formed musical project The Slew, featuring 3 DJs on 6 turntables.
