Stefano Bollani
1972 -
Origin: Italia
Main instrument:
Piano
Genre: Jazz
As a child, Stefano Bollani dreamed of becoming a singer. He took to the piano seriously when he entered the conservatory. At age 15, he was playing alongside the biggest pop stars of Italy. After meeting trumpetist Enrico Rava, with whom he started a fruitful collaboration, Bollani turned his back on pop and immersed himself in jazz. Whether performing solo or with his own trio, the Italian displays impressive showmanship. As well as composing material of his own, he has revisited the likes of Prokofiev, Scott Joplin and Antonio Carlos Jobim.
