After moving to New York in the 1980s, guitarist, bassist and singer Tony Scherr quickly became a hot musical commodity. He has played alongside Bill Frisell, Norah Jones, Steven Bernstein (Sex Mob) and John Lurie, as well as Sophie B. Hawkins and Maria Schneider. A consummate accompanist and producer, Scherr released two folk-rock and Americana albums that caught on with discerning listeners. His song Sacramento was covered by Canadian Feist, under the title Lonely Lonely.
