Born in Fredericton, David Myles kicked off his musical journey at age 10 on trumpet before picking up the guitar 10 years later. Earning a B.A. in political science from Mount Allison University, he made his breakthrough with Together And Alone (2005), unveiling a fusion of pop, soul and folk. Critical acclaim came with Things Have Changed and a pair of Music Nova Scotia Awards in 2007, followed by further success with On The Line (2008), Turn Time Off (2010) and Into The Sun (2011). In 2012, his collaboration with hip-hop MC Classified took him to a higher level: a Juno for Inner Ninja, the biggest-selling rap single in Canadian music history. Myles also takes on charitable projects: the Singing for Supper tour and It’s Christmas album raised funds for food banks. In 2013, he launched a double-album, In The Nighttime, fusing elements from his musical palette, from jazzy folk to danceable pop.
