09-03-2018
Three new concerts added to the program
July 7, 9 p.m., MTELUS
Montreal-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Geoffroy has been gaining traction and interest since the release of his first EP, Soaked in Gold, in 2015. His most recent work, Coastline, sees Geoffroy’s familiar folk vibe give way to a more down-tempo, electronica/ trip-hop inspired sound. Since its release, the album’s first single Sleeping on My Own has garnered over 6 million streams on Spotify.
July 6, 9 p.m., Club Soda
Everyone remembers her collaboration with Gotye in the smash Somebody That I Used to Know, earning her a Grammy in 2012. Since then, this New Zealand singer has become a genuine star in Australia, weaving her own musical world at the crossroads of pop, jazz and soul. Don’t miss it!
July 4, 6 p.m., Gesù
With every successive performance, Jeremy Dutcher moves his audience with the power of his voice and the depth of his artistry. Trained as a tenor, he alternates between power opera, electronica rhythms and traditional Wolastoq melodies directly descended from his ancestors, mixing them with old sonic samples he finds here and there. In his Festival debut, he’ll present songs from his highly anticipated first album.
